چکیده
Resistance to antimicrobial substances by pathogenic microorganisms is on the rise since beginning of modern medicine. Mechanisms; enzymatic degradation, loss target and interception are employed bacteria in resisting antimicrobials. Bacterial capsule a gelatinous outer layer surrounding bacterial cell composed primarily polysaccharide. This study assessed role that Pseudomonas aeruginosa played carbapenem resistance. P. was isolated from 49 (16%) samples out 300 screened. India ink staining technique used detect capsule. Capsule detected 42 (86%) isolates whereas 7 (14%) were non-capsulated. All capsulated strains resistant antibiotics (Meropenem, Doripenem Imipenem) non-capsulated susceptible antibiotics. The results this however suggest involvement resistance employed.

Antibiotic Susceptibility of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Isolated from Cystic Fibrosis Patients
Abstract Background and Objective: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive genetic disease and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most common bacteria colonized in CF patients. Growing resistance of this bacterium to antibiotics now a day is a challenge of controlling infection in CF patient. In this study colonization of CF patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and antibiotic suscep...

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a leading cause of bum infections, and antibiotic- resistant strains of this bacterium are emerging due to extensive application of antibiotics in the bum unit of hospitals. In this study 50 strains of P. aeruginosa were isolated from bum patients infected with this micro-organism in the bum unit of a general hospital in Kerman, Iran over one year [May 1999-ApriI20...
متن کاملEmergence of Ciprofloxacin Resistance Among Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Isolated from Burn Patients
Background: Increasing resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to ciprofloxacin in ICU/burn units has created a problem in the treatment of infections caused by this microorganism. Methods: Fifty P. aeruginosa strains were isolated from burn patients hospitalized in the Kerman Hospital during May 1999-April 2000 and were tested for in-vitro sensitivity to different antibiotics by disc diffusion br...

متن کاملDetermination antimicrobial resistance profile of Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from hospitalized patients in Taleghani Hospital (Ahvaz, Iran) from 2011-2012
Background & Objective: Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a rod-shaped, Gram-negative, glucose-nonfermenting aerobic bacterium. It is widespread in natural environments and it is an opportunistic pathogen for humans that can lead to a broad spectrum of disease such as urinary, burn, respiratory infections, and septicemia. The aim of this study was to determe antibiotic resistance profile of P. aerugino...
